Yaya Brown is a transgender artist from Los Angeles, CA living in NYC, NY. Yaya is a recent MFA Fine Arts graduate from SVA in NYC but received a BA in Studio art from Reed college in 2023. Yaya has made everything from maximalist installations to small drawings and paintings over the course of his artistic career, and is currently focused on painting. His work represents his journey through his transition and the corresponding feelings of shame, fear, love, and joy that come along with embracing truth.
